I bought the 1kg pack of 2 pads for my wife’s elderly VW Beetle convertible. From day 1, the car has suffered from condensation due to the rag top. I was sceptical when I bought the pads, wondering whether I was throwing money away. They’re not overly expensive if they work. I’m delighted to say that I’d buy them again if I had to, they really are impressive. This morning, the car was covered in a heavy dew, especially the windows. I flicked on the wipers to clear the windscreen and it was bone dry and crystal clear on the inside. It’s almost unbelievable. I can’t recommend these simple silica pillows too highly, they REALLY work.
This is big but does the job well and can be reused over and over. Good slip proof mat if you want on your dash happy.
My car windscreen has always suffered from a lot of moisture in the winter, which was difficult to clear even with quite a few sheets of kitchen roll. I bought a pair of these 1kg dehumidifiers on 22 January 2026 and my windscreen has been moisture free until today, 17 February, when there was a moderate amount at the top of the windscreen but not at the bottom where the dehumidifiers sit. As I took them off to get ready to drive I noticed that the blue spots had turned light pink, so recharged them at 800w for 10 minutes each, by which time the indicator spots had turned blue again. Used oven gloves to remove them from the microwave. Finally I put them on top of a radiator for a few hours just to make sure they were completely dry before returning them to the car. A lot easier than trying to get all of the moisture off my windscreen in the mornings or even in the afternoons in the winter. Seems to work very well, so five stars for now.
